Watami Group switching to Reusable chopsticks
In 2006, Japan recorded a dispose of over hundred thousand billion pairs of Wooden and Bamboo disposable chopsticks, this figures reflected countless forests are disappearing, and all of us knew that the speed of consuming disposable chopstick is much faster that to grow a forest.
The abandonment of disposable chopsticks was applied at all WATAMI shops in July, 2008. As a social responsible corporate, we hope this action can help to arouse the public awareness of the importance of environment protection. We do care about provide fine dining and excellent service, meanwhile we do care about environmental protection. |

Black Illuminations
Starting from 2003, Japan Watami Group joint “the Black Illuminations” (Dim it !) Activity initiated and associated by Japan Government, this activity mainly purpose on arousing corporate awareness of lighting pollution and the needs of energy saving. Every year, many Japanese corporate were invited to switch off or dim the lighting of their outdoor signage temporality on a period of time on/ before the summer solstice. Moreover, we will donate part of the sales revenue from some promotion activities to Environmental Organization. In 2008 & 2009 summer,, Hong Kong Watami sold two special drinks and 20% of the sales revenue was donated to the local environmental organization – Friends of Earth Hong Kong, as a support for their activities. We will seek different ways to help to protect the earth.

| Community Activities |
AEON Watami visa cardholders not only can enjoy the year-round exclusive offers, Watami will donate equivalent 0.25% of all credit purchase amount transacted through the Watami Visa Card for charity purpose. AEON will donate 1% of its pretax profit to the AEON Education and Environment Fund Limited for the purpose of promoting environmental protection, cultural exchange and education in the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region and other parts of the People’s Republic of China.
Moreover, Hong Kong Watami Staff had established a internal organization named Watamian Club which main purpose on organize voluntary service & recreational activities, including, visiting nursing home, selling flag, tree planting etc, through various kinds of activities, to service the needs of society.
